Attorney Development:
Coaching
No coasting. It's a firm policy and a commitment you will make to keep the practice of law challenging and exciting as possible. KS developed the Coaching Program to offer a framework in which every Associate would have access to the time, resources, and wisdom of a more senior attorney in the Firm.
Coaches direct the strategic planning and progress of your career. You will meet monthly with your Coach to ask questions, share information, monitor your progress, and get regular feedback.
Level 1-2 Associates receive a Senior Associate as their Coach, while Level 3-5 Associates receive a Partner or Counsel as their Coach. A Coach's role may vary over the course of the relationship. At a minimum the Coach provides general advice for the Associate's career path. This can include advice for advancement within his or her department, assisting with the Associate's Annual Report and helping the Associate use performance review results to shape developmental planning, providing guidance for the partnership track, and discussing alternative career tracks within the firm.
