KT Summer Program-
Through the summer program, Kilpatrick Townsend offers future attorneys an opportunity for real-world law firm experience. During the 10 week program, our summer associates are given work for clients, participate in a firm-wide training program, and receive extensive feedback on their work. In addition to working together on client matters, Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys enjoy getting to know the summer associates through lunches and social events, such as concerts, sport outings, and dinner parties. The primary goal of the summer program is to provide summer associates an experience that closely mirrors the daily life of Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys.
Bringing it all together
Because Kilpatrick Townsend recruits diverse, well-rounded talent, our approach to attorney development is varied and comprehensive, recognizing where each attorney is in their practice and equipping them to take their practice where they want it to go. Here are the ways it all comes together:
Entry-Level associates are expected to hit 1850 hours, up to 50 hours of which can be devoted to pro bono work.
Mid to Senior-Level associates are expected to hit 1900, plus additional investment time in pro bono, community involvement, and business development.
We employ a “real world” merit-based system, so there are no "lock-steps" to climb.
Associates are rewarded for the value of their individual contribution, not just the time served.
The firm provides numerous, hands-on, “true-to-practice” training programs designed to help associates master core competencies for each level, including:
Litigation, Patent Litigation, Patent Prosecution, Trademark & Copyright, and Corporate Boot Camps
Continuous sessions with experts in business development, legal writing, negotiation, claim drafting, presentation, and time management skills
Our well-developed coaching program pairs entry-level associates with senior-level attorneys to help them navigate firm waters.
Coaches offer critical guidance regarding competencies and the evaluation process, but also advocate on behalf of their coachees and provide practical, on-the-job advice.
Check back often to see upcoming events on a wide variety of topics, both on campus and in the community.
We're always seeking engineers and patent agents to assist with our variety of prosecution matters.
